What happens after I sign up?
Once you sign up, you’ll receive an email with everything you need to know. We’ll get you out on the pitch this weekend, so you can start playing with minimal fuss. The quicker you sign up, the sooner you’ll be in the game.
Once we see you play, we will place you in a team that matches your ability
and fitness. You can move between teams depending on performance, or stay in the team where you make the most friends! It's all designed for your enjoyment

Which leagues do the SLFN teams play in?
Our teams compete in the highly competitive Wimbledon & District League on Saturdays and the Southern Sunday League on Sundays. With matches scheduled at convenient times, you can choose to play on Saturdays, Sundays, or both!
Where do you play your games?
We play across some of the best pitches in South London, including Earlsfield, Wandsworth, Southfields, Wimbledon, Clapham, Tooting, Putney, and Dulwich. Every game is played on real grass, in a true 11 aside format.
Do you play on grass, is it 11 aside, and is it competitive?
Yes, yes, and yes! We play on grass in full 11 aside matches, competing against other teams in a real league. This isn’t casual football – it’s the real deal.
What’s the minimum age to play?
We’re an adult male football network, we have many clubs lined to us and we are open to players aged 18 to 45. We also consider players aged 16-18 based on their ability. If you’re passionate and ready to compete, there’s a place for you here.
Can I register after the deadline?
With the high demand and only a few spots left, we cannot guarantee registration after the deadline. Our teams are in high demand, and once we’re full, that’s it. If you’re serious about playing, you must register before the deadline
Which days do you play on?
We offer both Saturday and Sunday teams, giving you the flexibility to play on the day that suits you best.
Do you train?
Yes, we do. We have multiple midweek training sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings at Southfields Academy. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills or just stay in shape, our training sessions have you covered.

Do I have to play every week?
Not at all. We understand that life can be unpredictable. Whether you can play every week or just occasionally, we’ll find a team that matches your commitment level.
Can I join without coming to a trial?
Absolutely. You can join without a trial, and we’ll place you in the team that best matches your skill level after seeing you play at training. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting back into the game, we have a place for you.
How good are the SLFN Teams?
Our teams vary in ability, so there’s a spot for everyone. Once we see you play, we’ll match you with the team that’s right for you. From competitive players to those just looking to get back into shape, we’ve got you covered.
Can you help me get fit?
Yes! We have FA qualified coaches who will help you improve your fitness and skills. Plus, our casual football network provides even more opportunities to play and stay in shape.
What if I can’t train every week?
No worries! We’re flexible and understand that life gets busy. Play when you can, and we’ll place you in a team that fits your availability.
What’s the SLFN social scene like?
Our social scene is second to none! We host annual Christmas parties, poker nights, and regular get-togethers in Clapham. Plus, we travel to Europe for football tournaments – last year, we hit Berlin and Copenhagen, and this year we’re heading to Austria!
Is there a signing-on fee?
